Honeymooning through India

Palm trees at Palolem Beach

It's been a busy year leading up to my own wedding this September— see beautiful photos by Crystal Marie Sing here—so it was really nice to be able to escape for our honeymoon. My wife and I had brainstormed a few possibilities for trips but were eventually convinced by a great deal on a flight from Vancouver to Delhi. We jumped on the opportunity having both always dreamed about traveling through India. Departing only a few days after the wedding felt a bit rushed but we were determined to maximize our time exploring this part of the world.

India is an amazing country. Everywhere we looked we found ourselves in places full of colours, sounds, smells and the most delicious food in the world. We began our trip with a few days in Delhi. A side-trip to the ancient town of Varanasi came next before flying to Goa and working our way south to Varkala by train. Being a bit harder to travel through than most other places we've visited proved to be a bit of a hurdle but many difficulties were rewarded with beautiful sights, amazing cuisine, and best of all, awesome photo opportunities!
